The Gujarat government has rolled out official round seals on its digital certificates to enhance authenticity and security.
The Gujarat government announced today that it will affix official round seals to all digital certificates issued by state departments. The move is aimed at making electronic documents harder to forge and easier to verify by third parties.
The seals will be embedded in the digital certificate’s PDF and image files, and will include a unique serial number linked to the issuing authority’s database. Verification can be done through a dedicated online portal.
Implementation will begin in the next 30 days, with all departments required to update their certificate templates and training staff on the new process. The government said the change will reduce fraud and increase public trust in digital records.
Officials expect the new seals to streamline verification for businesses, educational institutions and citizens who rely on state‑issued documents for legal and financial transactions.
