A guard of Shri Ram Janaki Medical College was fatally struck by an unknown vehicle near Khajuri Chowk in Samastipur on Wednesday, while his colleague sustained serious injuries.
On Wednesday morning, an unidentified vehicle rammed into the guard posted at Shri Ram Janaki Medical College and Hospital near Khajuri Chowk in the Sarairanjan police‑station area of Samastipur. The guard, identified as Babul Kumar Rai, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
His fellow security officer, Sanjay Rai, was seriously wounded in the same impact. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors are treating his injuries as critical.
Following the incident, the deceased’s body was placed on the road, leading to a temporary traffic jam as police worked to clear the lane and investigate the circumstances of the collision.
