A GSMA survey released by Outlook Money shows that about 33% of scam cases reported in India remain unresolved, pointing to gaps in coordination between telecom operators and law enforcement.
The Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) recently published a survey revealing that one in three scam cases reported in India are still unresolved. The study, based on data from telecom operators across the country, highlights significant gaps in the current system of reporting and investigation. According to the findings, many cases are either not reported or fail to progress beyond the initial complaint stage due to limited resources and coordination challenges. The survey calls for stronger collaboration between mobile operators, regulatory bodies and law‑enforcement agencies to improve case resolution rates. It also suggests that enhanced reporting mechanisms and better data sharing could help close the existing loopholes and protect consumers from fraud.
