GSCERT to Introduce OMR Sheets for Grade III–VIII Common Exam

The State Council of Educational Research and Training (GSCERT) has announced that OMR sheets will be introduced for the common examinations of students in grades III to VIII. This change will replace handwritten answer sheets with machine‑readable OMR sheets, allowing for automated marking. The move is expected to reduce marking errors, speed up result declaration, and improve transparency in the assessment process. Schools will receive training and guidelines on how to use the new OMR sheets. The decision is part of GSCERT’s broader initiative to modernise assessment practices across the state.
