The bodies of a grandfather and his grandson, who were swept away while crossing the Repi River on a bike, were retrieved two days later in Baran, Rajasthan.

Baran district authorities recovered the remains of a grandfather and his grandson on Saturday, two days after they were carried away by the swift currents of the Repi River. The pair had been attempting to cross the river on a motorcycle when the water surged, pulling both the bike and the riders downstream.

Rescue teams from the local police and disaster response units conducted a search operation along the riverbank, locating the bodies after extensive patrolling. The recovered bodies were taken to the district hospital for identification and further procedures.

Officials said the river's flow had intensified due to recent rains, creating hazardous conditions for anyone attempting to ford it. They urged residents to avoid crossing the river on foot or by vehicle until water levels subside.

The incident highlights the risks posed by sudden flash floods in the region, prompting calls for better warning systems and public awareness campaigns.

The district administration has opened an inquiry to determine the exact circumstances of the accident and to assess whether any safety measures were lacking at the crossing point.
