A granddaughter accused of killing her grandfather in Indore has been remanded to jail after refusing to cooperate with investigators; she had earlier expressed a desire to become a journalist after completing her BA.

Indore police have taken a young woman into custody after she was identified as the suspect in the murder of her 78-year‑old grandfather. The incident, which occurred late last month in a residential area of the city, prompted a swift investigation and the filing of a homicide case.

During the subsequent interrogation, investigators reported that the accused repeatedly refused to answer questions or provide details about the crime, prompting the court to order her remand in judicial custody. The magistrate cited her lack of cooperation as a factor in denying bail and directing her transfer to the district jail.

Court records show that the woman had recently completed a Bachelor of Arts degree and had expressed ambitions to pursue a career in journalism. Her educational background and career aspirations were noted during the hearing, but they did not influence the legal outcome.

The case now proceeds to trial, with the prosecution preparing a charge sheet that alleges premeditated murder. The family of the deceased has called for a swift and fair trial, while the accused remains in custody pending further hearings.
