Govt scheme data, brand protection to boost MSME competitiveness: Upkar Ahuja

Upkar Ahuja said that improved access to government scheme information and stronger brand‑protection measures will raise the competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises.

Ludhiana‑based industry expert Upkar Ahuja emphasized that MSMEs stand to gain significantly if they can tap into detailed data on existing government schemes. He noted that many small businesses remain unaware of the financial and technical assistance available, limiting their growth potential.

Ahuja also pointed out that brand protection is a critical, yet often overlooked, component of MSME success. By securing trademarks and preventing counterfeit products, firms can preserve market share and command better pricing.

Combining transparent scheme information with robust intellectual‑property safeguards, he argued, will create a more level playing field for MSMEs, enabling them to compete more effectively both domestically and internationally.
