Home Secretary Govind Mohan opened a National Dialogue aimed at tackling online crimes targeting women and children, emphasizing the need for stronger legal frameworks and public awareness.

Govind Mohan, the Home Secretary, inaugurated the National Dialogue on Online Crimes Against Women & Children at a ceremony held in New Delhi.

The event brought together law‑enforcement officials, legal experts, civil‑society representatives and technology specialists to discuss strategies for preventing and prosecuting cyber‑harassment, grooming and exploitation of minors.

Mohan highlighted the growing prevalence of digital abuse and urged the government to strengthen existing laws, improve victim support services and promote digital literacy among vulnerable groups.

Participants agreed to collaborate on a comprehensive action plan, including better data‑sharing mechanisms and public awareness campaigns, to curb online predatory behaviour.
