The government has announced the revival of the Sanjivani Sugar Factory through a public‑private partnership, aiming to restart production.

The government disclosed that the Sanjivani Sugar Factory will be brought back to operation under a public‑private partnership (PPP) framework. Officials said the move is intended to rejuvenate the plant’s capacity and support the regional sugar sector.

Under the PPP model, a private entity will collaborate with the state to manage day‑to‑day operations, while the government will provide necessary support and oversight. The partnership is expected to attract investment, modernise equipment, and create employment opportunities for local workers.

The decision comes at a time when many sugar mills across the country face financial strain, and reviving Sanjivani is seen as a step toward stabilising supply of sugar and related by‑products. Authorities have not released a timeline for the factory’s full restart, but indicated that the process will be monitored closely to ensure compliance with industry standards.
