Delhi traffic police report heavy congestion on the Barapulla Phase-3 elevated road, while Google Maps incorrectly shows the route as clear.
Delhi traffic police have issued an advisory after motorists reported severe congestion on the Barapulla Phase-3 elevated road. The police said that, despite Google Maps indicating the stretch as free-flowing, vehicles are facing long queues and delays during peak hours.
According to the police, the mismatch between the navigation app and on‑ground conditions is causing drivers to waste time and fuel, and in some cases, leading to risky lane changes. Officials have urged commuters to verify real‑time traffic updates locally and consider alternative routes such as the nearby ground‑level roads.
The traffic police team is monitoring the situation and will coordinate with municipal authorities to improve signal timing and clear any obstructions. They also advised regular users of navigation apps to report discrepancies to help improve map accuracy.
Authorities emphasized that accurate information is crucial for safe commuting and asked the public to stay alert and follow police instructions while on the road.
