Google launches free HD AI video maker “Google Vids” for all users

Google announced that its AI‑driven video generation platform, Google Vids, is now freely accessible to anyone. The latest update brings high‑definition video support up to 1080p and a set of new creative controls, including timeline editing, customizable text overlays and music selection. Previously limited to a pilot group, the tool will now enable creators, marketers and small businesses to produce short videos quickly using Google's generative AI models. The rollout is part of Google's broader effort to democratise artificial intelligence across its product suite, following similar free offerings for text and image generation. Users can reach Google Vids via the Google Workspace suite or a dedicated web portal, with all new features available at no charge.
