Goa officials warn of looming power shortfall challenges

Goa's senior officials have cautioned that the state is likely to encounter a pronounced power shortfall in the near future, marking a difficult phase for electricity management. The warning reflects growing concerns over the gap between rising consumption and the limited supply of electricity available to the state. Authorities indicated that they are reviewing demand‑side measures and may resort to load‑shedding if the shortfall deepens. They urged power distributors and consumers to cooperate with any conservation initiatives that could be rolled out. The statement highlights the urgency of coordinated action to prevent disruptions to households, businesses and the tourism sector that drives Goa's economy.
