Goa Medical College has introduced a three‑dimensional virtual anatomy system to enhance the teaching of anatomy for its undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses.

Goa Medical College, the state’s premier medical institution, has rolled out a new 3D virtual anatomy platform aimed at modernising anatomy education for its students. The digital tool provides interactive, three‑dimensional visualisations of human body structures, allowing learners to explore organs and systems in a simulated environment.

The college officials said the platform will supplement traditional cadaver‑based teaching, offering students the ability to revisit complex anatomical regions repeatedly without the constraints of physical dissection labs. It is expected to improve spatial understanding and support remote learning when required.

The initiative aligns with broader efforts across Indian medical schools to integrate advanced technology into curricula, ensuring that graduates are equipped with contemporary skills. Training sessions for faculty and students have been scheduled to familiarise them with the software’s features.

By adopting this technology, Goa Medical College aims to raise the standard of medical education in the state and provide a model that other institutions may follow.
