The Goa government carried out a comprehensive cyclone simulation across the state to evaluate emergency response mechanisms.

The state administration of Goa recently conducted a full‑scale cyclone mock drill covering all districts, aiming to gauge the readiness of its disaster response framework. The exercise simulated a severe cyclonic event, triggering coordinated actions from multiple agencies.
Key agencies, including the State Disaster Management Authority, police, fire services, health officials and local municipal bodies, participated in real‑time scenario planning, evacuation drills and relief supply distribution. Communication channels were tested to ensure swift information flow between command centres and field units.
Preliminary observations indicated that while most response units performed effectively, gaps were identified in shelter allocation and public warning dissemination. Officials said the findings will inform revisions to the state's cyclone contingency plan and guide future training programmes.
