The Goa government announced a pilot scheme for schools to conduct self‑evaluations as part of implementing the NEP.
New Delhi, Aug 21 — The state of Goa has approved a pilot programme that will enable schools to assess their own performance in line with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP). The initiative, approved by the state education department, seeks to empower institutions to identify strengths and gaps without external audits.
Under the pilot, participating schools will use a standardized self‑evaluation framework developed by the NEP task force. Teachers and administrators will compile data on teaching practices, learning outcomes and infrastructure, and submit reports to the state education authority for review.
Officials said the scheme aims to foster a culture of continuous improvement and provide actionable insights for future policy refinements. The pilot is slated to begin in the upcoming academic session, with results expected to inform a broader rollout across Goa's school network.
