Goa Forward Party Eyes Alliance with Congress, Says Leader Vijai

The Goa Forward Party (GFP) has indicated that it is considering an alliance with the Indian National Congress ahead of the upcoming state elections. Party spokesperson Vijai said the talks are in an exploratory phase and that both parties are assessing how a partnership could benefit their electoral prospects. The GFP, which has seen a steady rise in Goa’s political landscape, has not yet formalised any agreement, and the Congress has not confirmed its stance. Analysts note that a GFP‑Congress tie‑up could reshape the contest in key constituencies, but both sides are cautious about making public commitments before the election schedule is finalized. The announcement comes as political parties in Goa intensify coalition talks in the run‑up to the assembly polls.
