Gir‑breed cow Radha from Ujjain tops milk‑yield contest

Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh – In a state‑level milk‑yield contest held recently, a Gir‑breed cow called Radha emerged as the top performer, clinching first place. The competition, organized by local dairy authorities, evaluated the daily milk output of participating cattle over a set period.

Radha, owned by a farmer from the Ujjain district, outperformed other entries, highlighting the high milk potential of the Gir breed, which is prized for both quantity and quality of milk. Dairy officials noted that the cow’s consistent performance reflects effective herd management and nutrition practices adopted by the farmer.

The victory is expected to encourage other livestock owners in the region to adopt improved breeding and feeding techniques, aiming to boost milk production across Madhya Pradesh’s dairy sector.
