Gen Z Drives Record 4.4 Lakh Voter Registrations in Telangana

Telangana’s Election Commission reported that 4.40 lakh new voter enrolment forms were submitted during the latest registration drive, a significant rise attributed to the state’s young electorate. The bulk of these applications came from individuals aged 18 to 25, the demographic commonly referred to as Generation Z. Officials said the influx reflects heightened political awareness among young citizens ahead of the upcoming state assembly polls. The commission plans to verify and process the applications ahead of the scheduled voter list finalisation. Analysts suggest that the expanded youth voter base could influence party strategies in the forthcoming elections.
