Gen Z Demonstrations Sweep Across European Cities Over Climate and Policy Demands

Across multiple European capitals, crowds of young people identified as Generation Z gathered in streets and public squares to voice their concerns. The demonstrations, organized by various youth networks, focused primarily on urging governments to adopt more ambitious climate policies and to address socioeconomic inequalities. Participants used banners, chants and digital platforms to highlight the urgency of their demands, emphasizing that the future impacts of climate change will disproportionately affect their generation. While the protests remained largely peaceful, they attracted significant media attention and prompted statements from several city officials acknowledging the activists' concerns. Authorities in the host cities reported no major disruptions, and the gatherings are expected to continue as part of a broader continental movement.
