Students from Generation Alpha staged protests across India, echoing a recent government report that highlighted significant shortcomings in school education.

Generation Alpha students took to the streets in several Indian cities this week, demanding urgent reforms in the school system. The demonstrations were organized by youth groups and featured banners calling for better curricula, teacher training and infrastructure.

Their demands align with a government-commissioned report released earlier this month, which identified wide‑scale gaps in learning outcomes, resource allocation and digital access across public schools. The report warned that current deficiencies could undermine the nation’s future competitiveness.

Education officials acknowledged the concerns raised by the protesters and said the findings would be discussed in an upcoming inter‑ministerial meeting. While no specific policy changes have been announced yet, authorities indicated that the report would inform the next phase of the National Education Policy implementation.
