A gas tank burst at a CNG station in Tikri Kalan, Delhi, during refuelling, leaving six people injured.
A sudden explosion ripped through a CNG pump in the Tikri Kalan area of Delhi while a vehicle was being refuelled. The blast was caused by a gas tank rupture, sending a shockwave that shattered nearby equipment and shattered windows.
Emergency services arrived within minutes, evacuating the site and transporting six injured persons to nearby hospitals. The victims, ranging from the pump attendant to by‑standers, sustained burns and minor injuries and are reported to be in stable condition.
Delhi Police and the fire department have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to determine whether safety protocols were breached. Officials have urged other CNG stations to conduct immediate safety checks on storage tanks and refuelling equipment.
