The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) chief visited Jammu & Kashmir to review the region's food testing facilities and assess compliance with national safety standards.

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) chief visited Jammu & Kashmir to inspect the state’s food testing laboratories and evaluate their readiness to meet national safety norms.

During the visit, the chief toured the laboratories, reviewed testing protocols, and met with technical staff to discuss equipment calibration and quality control measures.

The inspection is part of a broader effort to strengthen food safety infrastructure in remote regions, ensuring that locally produced food meets the same rigorous standards as products from major urban centers.

Following the review, the FSSAI will issue recommendations on upgrading facilities, enhancing staff training, and implementing stricter monitoring to safeguard consumer health across the state.
