Jasprit Shami credits the Maidan clubs for honing his swing, turning early struggles into a successful career as India's fast bowler.
Jasprit Shami, now a key member of India's pace attack, began his cricketing journey in the modest Maidan clubs of Mumbai, where he faced early challenges and limited resources.
The Maidan clubs, known for their open grounds and community spirit, provided Shami with regular match practice and a platform to experiment with his bowling technique.
It was here that Shami refined his swing, learning to generate movement off the pitch and develop a deceptive variation that would later become his trademark.
His progress through these grassroots venues paved the way for selection into state and national teams, culminating in his debut as an international pacer for India.
