Police in Gwalior have arrested four local youths within 72 hours for the murder of 35‑year‑old Purushottam Gurjar, allegedly over a 20% interest loan.
The Jhansi Road police station in Gwalior disclosed that four youths from Chhoti Madhaiya village were taken into custody for the killing of 35‑year‑old Purushottam Gurjar. The investigation revealed that the victim had been pressured to repay a loan carrying a 20% interest rate, which led to a fatal confrontation.
According to police sources, the accused met the victim at a local temple where they allegedly swore an oath before carrying out the murder. The body was discovered shortly after, prompting a swift police response.
Investigators said that the suspects were identified through local inquiries and forensic evidence, allowing the team to complete arrests within three days of the incident. The case is now being forwarded to the district court for trial.
