Four Youth Killed, Three Injured in Electrocution at Ganesh Pandal in Heerapur, Mandla

A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday night in Heerapur, a village in the Nainpur area of Mandla district, Madhya Pradesh. After the Ganesh idol was immersed, a group of youths who had stayed inside the pandal fell victim to an electrical fault that sent a current through the structure. Four of the young men, who were sleeping inside, suffered fatal injuries.

Three other individuals were also affected by the shock. Two of them received first‑aid at the scene, while the third was rushed to the district hospital for further treatment. The hospital confirmed that the injured are under observation.

Local authorities have cordoned off the site and are conducting a preliminary investigation to determine the cause of the electrical failure. Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward and have promised to file a detailed report.

The incident has sparked concerns about safety measures at temporary structures used during religious festivals, prompting officials to review existing guidelines for electrical installations in such events.
