Four of Eight Baga Beach Clubs Ordered to Cease Operations

Goa police issued desealing notices to four of the eight nightclubs that operate along Baga beach, indicating that the establishments failed to comply with statutory licensing requirements. The enforcement action was taken after a series of inspections that uncovered irregularities in fire safety measures, alcohol sale permits, and operating hours. Officials said the move aims to ensure public safety and uphold the rule of law in the popular tourist zone.
The clubs that received the orders were instructed to shut down immediately and surrender their licences to the district magistrate. Non‑compliance could attract further penalties, including fines or criminal prosecution. The remaining four clubs are currently under review and may face similar actions if they are found to be in breach.
