Manipur police detained four suspected militants, two of whom belong to the People's Liberation Army (PLA). The operation was carried out as part of ongoing anti‑insurgency efforts in the state.
Manipur police announced the arrest of four suspected militants during a coordinated operation earlier this week. Among those detained, two were identified as cadres of the People's Liberation Army, an insurgent group active in the region.
The security forces said the suspects were apprehended after intelligence inputs pointed to their presence in a rural area of the state. Details about the exact location and the circumstances of the raid have not been disclosed for operational security.
Authorities emphasized that the arrests are part of a broader strategy to curb insurgent activities and restore normalcy in conflict‑prone districts. No injuries were reported, and the detainees are being handed over to the judicial system for further investigation.
The police have not released the names of the arrested individuals, citing ongoing investigations. The operation underscores the state's continued vigilance against militant networks operating across its borders.
