Madhya Pradesh is constructing four mega corridors that will reduce travel time between Bhopal and Kanpur to six hours and between Bhopal and Raipur to seven hours.

The Madhya Pradesh government has announced the development of four mega corridors aimed at dramatically shortening inter‑city travel times. One of the corridors will link the state capital Bhopal with Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, cutting the journey to approximately six hours. Another corridor will connect Bhopal with Raipur in Chhattisgarh, targeting a seven‑hour travel time.
These infrastructure projects are part of a broader push to modernise transport networks across the region, with the corridors expected to support faster passenger movement and boost economic activity along the routes.
Construction work has already begun on the designated alignments, with authorities stating that the projects will incorporate advanced engineering standards to ensure safety and speed.
State officials anticipate that the new corridors will not only improve connectivity but also attract investment, tourism and logistics businesses to the linked cities.
The timelines for completion have not been disclosed, but the government has pledged to expedite the work to deliver the promised travel reductions as soon as possible.
