Four Children Injured as Plaster Falls from Primary School Ceiling in Satna Amid Heavy Rain

During heavy rain, waterlogged classrooms forced students to study in the verandah of a Satna primary school, where a ceiling plaster collapsed, injuring four children. Treatment is underway and the district education officer has ordered an inquiry.
Heavy rains in Satna this week left several classrooms of a government primary school flooded, prompting teachers to shift pupils to the verandah for lessons. The makeshift arrangement continued as water levels rose inside the rooms.
While the children were studying on the verandah, a large section of plaster from the school ceiling gave way and fell onto the area below. Four students sustained injuries ranging from minor cuts to bruises and were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical care.
School authorities reported that the injured children are receiving treatment and that the district education officer (DEO) has directed a thorough investigation into the cause of the collapse. The DEO assured parents that safety checks will be carried out across similar schools in the district to prevent any recurrence.
