Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Major General Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri Passes Away in Dehradun

Delhi‑based news agency DD News reported that Major General (Retd.) Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri, who served as Uttarakhand's chief minister from 2007 to 2009, died in a hospital in Dehradun. The former army officer turned politician was 71 years old at the time of his death. Sources said he had been undergoing treatment for a prolonged illness, but the exact cause of death was not disclosed. Khanduri was credited with initiating several infrastructure projects during his tenure, including road expansions and hydro‑electric schemes, and he remained a respected figure in the state's political and defence circles.
