The former chief minister of Gujarat will join the Congress campaign trail in Gandhinagar ahead of the municipal polls scheduled for October 11.
The former chief minister of Gujarat has announced that he will actively campaign for the Indian National Congress in the upcoming Gandhinagar municipal elections. His involvement comes as the city prepares for the civic polls slated for October 11, a contest that will determine the composition of the local governing body.
Congress officials see the ex‑CM's presence as a strategic move to bolster the party's visibility and appeal among voters in the state capital. The party hopes that his stature and experience will attract support in wards where it traditionally trails the ruling party.
Election authorities have confirmed the polling date and are urging all candidates to adhere to the code of conduct. The former chief minister is expected to address rallies and meet local party workers in the days leading up to the vote, though no specific schedule has been released yet.
