Balaghat’s ex‑BMO Sunil Singh has been booked for allegedly using another doctor’s MBBS certificate to secure a government medical post, draw a multi‑crore salary and receive promotions for more than fifteen years.
Balaghat district police have registered a criminal case against former block medical officer Sunil Singh, alleging that he fraudulently used another doctor’s MBBS degree to obtain and retain a government medical posting.
The investigation claims Singh held the position for over fifteen years, during which he collected a salary amounting to several crores and received multiple promotions despite lacking the requisite qualifications.
Authorities said the fake credential was presented during the initial recruitment process, enabling Singh to bypass standard eligibility checks.
The police have begun a detailed inquiry, including verification of the original degree, examination of salary records, and questioning of officials involved in the appointment.
If proven, the case could lead to recovery of the salary paid and disciplinary action against the officials who facilitated the appointment.
