Rajasthan’s Special Operation Group detained Dinesh Kumar Vishnoi, who had posed as a dummy candidate in the forest‑guard recruitment test in Jalore.
The Special Operation Group (SOG) of Rajasthan police arrested Dinesh Kumar Vishnoi on October 24 in Jalore district. Vishnoi, a resident of the Sahu village in the Sanchaur area of Barmer district, had reportedly taken part in the forest‑guard recruitment examination as a dummy candidate.
The forest‑guard exam, conducted to fill vacant positions in the state’s forest department, often sees candidates employ stand‑ins to manipulate the selection process. Authorities say Vishnoi’s role was to act as a placeholder, allowing another individual to benefit from the test results.
According to the SOG, the arrest was part of a broader crackdown on fraudulent practices in government recruitment. Vishnoi is being held on charges of cheating, conspiracy, and violation of the Indian Penal Code provisions related to examination fraud.
The police have not disclosed whether additional suspects are involved, but the operation underscores the state’s commitment to ensuring transparency in public service appointments.
