Forest Dept. Saves Over 20 Snakes from Charmer in Damoh on Nag Panchami

During the Nag Panchami festival, the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department, in partnership with the Kal Bhairav Animal Welfare Foundation, rescued more than twenty snakes from a snake charmer’s enclosure in Damoh and released them into the wild after medical checks.
The Nag Panchami celebrations in Damoh were marked by a wildlife rescue operation carried out by the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department. In collaboration with the Kal Bhairav Animal Welfare Foundation, officials located a snake charmer’s enclosure that housed more than twenty snakes. The animals were safely extracted and transported to a nearby veterinary facility for health checks. After confirming they were disease‑free, the snakes were released back into their natural habitat, underscoring the department’s commitment to wildlife protection.
