“Focus on Development Politics Instead of Politics of Allegations”: Mamatha Prabhu Dore

Devadurga, Sept. 29: Congress Scheduled Tribe Cell State General Secretary Mamatha Prabhu Dore said Devadurga MLA Karemma G. Nayak should speak about the development of the constituency keeping historical facts and ground realities in mind. She said the role played by earlier Congress governments in the construction of the Narayanapura Dam and the development of irrigation systems based on it should not be overlooked.

She said the irrigation projects undertaken by previous governments played an important role in creating systems to bring water to the Devadurga region. Therefore, she said, it would be appropriate to understand the history and facts before making allegations against the government.

“The responsibility of an MLA is not limited to making allegations against the government. Ensuring that officials perform their duties properly, monitoring development works, addressing people's problems and effectively leading the administration of the constituency are among the key responsibilities of an MLA. This requires administrative understanding and continuous commitment,” she said.

Instead of repeatedly making emotional statements such as, “I am poor and I have no money or status,” the MLA should use the authority already given by the people to improve their lives. Priority should be given to development politics rather than the politics of allegations, Mamatha Prabhu Dore said.

The people of Devadurga need comprehensive development, including drinking water, irrigation, better roads, education, employment and healthcare, rather than emotional statements. “The people have given the mandate; now it is time to work and demonstrate results,” she said while speaking to reporters.

Mamatha Prabhu Dore further said that the strength of the Congress in Devadurga would be demonstrated in the 2028 Assembly elections. She challenged the MLA to resign, face the people again in an election and prove her popularity if she has confidence in her support among the people.
