The Ganga river in Muzaffarpur remains at 38.80 m, yet floodwaters continue to inundate Diara, lower‑lying villages and the Kutalpur embankment, while a diversion structure has sunk.

The water level of the Ganga in Muzaffarpur has stabilised at 38.80 metres, but the floodplain is expanding as water seeps into previously unaffected localities. Authorities report that the Diara region and other low‑lying habitations are now under water, forcing residents to adapt to the rising tide.

With road routes submerged, villagers are relying on boats for daily commuting and the transport of essential goods. The inundation has disrupted normal life, limiting access to markets, schools and health facilities in the affected zones.

In the Kutalpur area, the riverbank is experiencing noticeable erosion, compounding the difficulties for the local population. A diversion structure meant to channel excess flow has collapsed and is now submerged, further aggravating waterlogging and hampering relief operations.
