IQAir has issued an indoor air quality alert for Crete after flash flooding struck the island, warning residents of potential indoor pollutant risks.

Heavy rain caused flash flooding across parts of Crete, Greece, prompting local authorities to issue emergency warnings. The sudden inundation has disrupted transport and raised concerns about water‑borne contaminants entering homes.

Air‑quality monitoring firm IQAir responded by publishing an indoor air quality alert for the affected areas. The alert highlights that flood‑related moisture and debris can elevate indoor levels of mold spores, volatile organic compounds and other pollutants, posing health risks especially to vulnerable groups.

Residents are advised to keep windows closed, use dehumidifiers where possible, and follow any further guidance from health officials. IQAir will continue to update its online platform with real‑time indoor air quality data as the situation evolves.
