The meteorological department has warned that ten districts in Jharkhand are at risk of flash floods as continuous heavy rain is forecast through September 5.

The Jharkhand State Disaster Management Authority has issued an advisory indicating that a monsoon trough will bring sustained heavy rainfall across the state until September 5, prompting flash‑flood warnings for ten districts.

Authorities have asked residents to remain vigilant, avoid low‑lying areas, and cooperate with local officials. Relief teams and emergency response units have been placed on standby to act swiftly if water levels rise rapidly.

The Indian Meteorological Department forecasts prolonged periods of intense rain, which could cause rivers and streams to swell quickly, increasing the likelihood of sudden flooding in vulnerable zones.

Officials emphasized that the situation will be monitored continuously, and any escalation will trigger pre‑planned evacuation and rescue measures to protect lives and property.
