Police in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh, detained five individuals carrying illegal firearms and ammunition, allegedly preparing to create terror in the city.
Police in Damoh arrested five men and women on Tuesday after a raid on a warehouse near the city’s outskirts. The suspects were found in possession of multiple illegal firearms, ammunition, and explosive materials that authorities say were intended for use in a terror attack.
During the operation, officers seized over 200 rounds of ammunition, several rifles, and a number of improvised explosive devices. The seized items were catalogued and sent to the state forensic laboratory for further analysis.
Investigators are probing the suspects’ connections to local extremist groups and are looking into whether the weapons were part of a larger plot to disrupt public safety in Damoh. No injuries were reported, and the city remains under normal security measures.
