Bhopal police recorded five sexual‑offence cases within a day, three of them involving Dalit minor girls and another involving video blackmail of a student.
Police in Bhopal have logged five separate sexual‑offence cases over a 24‑hour period, covering incidents both in the city and its surrounding rural pockets. The filings were made after complaints reached local law‑enforcement agencies.
Three of the cases involve Dalit minor girls who were allegedly assaulted. The victims are underage and their identities have been withheld pending investigation.
A separate complaint concerns a female student who was threatened with the release of a video, prompting authorities to open a blackmail case.
Investigators have begun gathering forensic evidence and interviewing witnesses. While no arrests have been announced, officials have pledged swift legal action against the perpetrators.
The cluster of crimes has prompted local NGOs and community leaders to call for stronger protection measures for women and children, especially those from vulnerable Dalit communities.
