Five Kuki Men Killed in Two Separate Incidents in Manipur Hills

Five men from the Kuki community were shot dead in two separate incidents that occurred in the hill districts of Manipur. The first incident took place in the district of Chandel, where a group of Kuki men were reportedly attacked by unidentified assailants. The second incident occurred in the district of Ukhrul, with a similar pattern of violence. Local authorities have launched investigations into both killings, but no suspects have yet been named.

The killings have sparked fresh unrest among the local population, with community leaders calling for calm and urging the police to act swiftly. The state government has expressed its concern and pledged to maintain peace in the affected areas. Meanwhile, security forces have increased their presence in the hill districts to prevent further escalation.

The incidents come at a time when Manipur has been grappling with ethnic tensions and sporadic violence. Human rights groups have warned that the lack of clear accountability could exacerbate communal divisions. The police are expected to release more details as the investigations progress.
