A ferris wheel cabin collapsed at the Indiranagar Sawan Mahotsav in Lucknow, leaving five people injured, two of them in critical condition.
The Indiranagar Sawan Mahotsav, a seasonal fair held near the Ghazipur police station in Lucknow, was disrupted when a ferris wheel cabin fell to the ground. Emergency services arrived promptly after the incident was reported by fair-goers.
Five individuals sustained injuries in the crash, two of whom were rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition while the remaining three received treatment for less severe wounds.
Police have cordoned off the area and are conducting a preliminary investigation to determine the cause of the malfunction. The fair management has temporarily halted rides pending safety checks.
