Finland is urging stronger circular‑economy ties with India, highlighting that more than a hundred Finnish companies are already active in the country across sectors such as waste management and renewable energy.

Helsinki’s trade delegation told Indian officials that Finland aims to expand cooperation on circular‑economy initiatives, noting that over 100 Finnish firms are currently operating in India. The companies span industries including waste recycling, renewable energy, sustainable packaging and water treatment, reflecting a growing interest in resource‑efficient solutions.

Finnish officials emphasized that deeper collaboration could help both nations meet climate goals and create new market opportunities. They proposed joint pilot projects, technology transfers and investment forums to accelerate the adoption of circular practices in Indian manufacturing and urban infrastructure.

India, for its part, welcomed the outreach, indicating that the government is keen to attract foreign expertise that can bolster its own circular‑economy roadmap. The dialogue is expected to continue through upcoming bilateral business forums and sector‑specific workshops.

If the partnership gains momentum, analysts predict increased Finnish investment in Indian green‑tech startups and a boost to local supply chains that support recycling and resource recovery.
