Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted that disciplined fiscal policy, ongoing reforms and higher infrastructure spending have reinforced the strength of the Indian economy.
New Delhi – In a recent statement, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman emphasized that a combination of fiscal discipline, structural reforms and accelerated infrastructure investment has been pivotal in bolstering India’s economic performance. She noted that the government's commitment to maintaining a prudent fiscal stance has helped contain deficits while supporting growth-oriented spending.
Sitharaman pointed to several reform initiatives undertaken over the past year, including measures to improve the ease of doing business, rationalise tax structures and attract foreign investment. These steps, she said, are creating a more favourable environment for both domestic and international investors.
Infrastructure development, she added, remains a cornerstone of the growth strategy. Increased allocation to roads, railways, ports and renewable energy projects is expected to generate jobs, enhance connectivity and stimulate demand across sectors.
The minister concluded that the synergy of fiscal prudence, reforms and infrastructure spending is delivering a resilient macro‑economic outlook, positioning India for sustained expansion in the coming years.
