The movie 'Action' lost its appeal against the censor board’s ban on graphic gore and violence, leaving it without any distributors.
The Indian film titled "Action" failed to overturn a decision by the Central Board of Film Certification that flagged the movie for excessive gore and violent content. The producers filed an appeal seeking a more lenient certification, but the board upheld its original ruling, citing concerns over the graphic nature of several scenes.
The board’s verdict means the film cannot be released with a standard rating, and the producers have not been granted any cuts or modifications to satisfy the guidelines. Industry observers note that the board’s strict stance reflects ongoing sensitivity to violent imagery in mainstream cinema.
With the appeal dismissed, distributors across the country have declined to pick up the film, citing commercial risk and potential backlash. As a result, "Action" currently has no theatrical release plan and may remain unreleased unless the makers pursue further legal recourse or re-edit the content.
