FDA warns of wholesale action against sellers of idle oil, says Tukaram Munde

Minister Tukaram Munde, speaking at a special News18 Marathi briefing, reiterated the regulator's resolve to curb the practice and protect market integrity. He urged legitimate traders to comply with existing quality standards and warned that non‑compliance will attract penalties under the Food Safety and Standards Act.
The FDA has instructed state food safety officials to monitor wholesale markets closely and to initiate investigations wherever irregularities are reported. Traders are advised to maintain proper documentation and to submit samples for testing before dispatch.
