FDA Seizes Rs 1.54 Cr Oil, Finds Expired Food & Cockroaches at Amazon Warehouse

The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) launched a surprise inspection at an Amazon warehouse in the state, uncovering serious violations of food safety standards. Inspectors found a large quantity of expired food items, a stockpile of oil valued at approximately 1.54 crore rupees, and a severe cockroach infestation. The findings prompted the FDA to seize the contaminated products and issue a temporary shutdown notice to the facility. Authorities are now investigating the source of the violations and will assess whether Amazon will face penalties or additional compliance requirements.
