FDA Sees Fake Expiry Dates on Maggi, Lay's, Kurkure Packs in Mumbai, Targeted for Export

The FDA has discovered fake expiry dates on Maggi, Lay’s and Kurkure snack packs in Mumbai, which were intended for export.
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) announced that it has identified fake expiry dates on packs of Maggi noodles, Lay’s potato chips and Kurkure snacks found in Mumbai. The affected products were reportedly destined for export markets.
During routine inspections, FSSAI officials noticed that the expiry dates stamped on the packaging did not match the manufacturing records. The discovery raises concerns about the integrity of food safety practices in the export supply chain.
FSSAI has taken immediate action against the manufacturers and will investigate the supply chain to prevent further violations. The authority has also warned that any company found distributing food with falsified dates may face penalties and bans from the market.
