Eleven days after Parvinder Singh Jhota’s killing, the Justice Committee remains stalled and his father has now called for the replacement of SSP Manasa.
Parvinder Singh Jhota was shot dead in a high‑profile incident that has drawn intense public scrutiny across Punjab. The killing, which occurred earlier this month, sparked demands for a swift and transparent investigation.
In response, a Justice Committee was set up after the chief minister and the director‑general of police offered to resign, signalling the gravity of the case. However, eleven days on, the committee has made little progress, and the investigation remains at a standstill.
Jhota’s father, speaking to local media, has now demanded that the senior superintendent of police, Manasa, be replaced, alleging that the current officer has failed to advance the probe and restore public confidence.
Police officials have declined to comment on the specific demand, but they reiterated that the investigation is ongoing and that all leads are being pursued in accordance with the law.
