India's pace bowler Umesh Yadav has officially joined the Punjab Cricket Association ahead of the 2026-27 domestic cricket season.
Umesh Yadav, the right‑arm fast bowler who has represented India in Tests, ODIs and T20Is, has been confirmed as a new signing of the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) for the upcoming 2026‑27 domestic calendar. The move was announced through a brief statement released by the PCA, confirming that Yadav will be available for Punjab in the Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy and other state‑level competitions.
The addition of Yadav, who brings over a decade of international experience and a reputation for delivering with the new ball, is expected to strengthen Punjab's pace attack considerably. Team officials said his presence will also provide mentorship to younger bowlers in the squad, helping the side to be more competitive across formats.
PCA officials expressed optimism that Yadav's commitment will raise the overall standard of cricket in the state and contribute to Punjab's ambitions of clinching titles in the forthcoming season. No financial details were disclosed, and Yadav is set to report for training camps later this month.
